Anger as SUV driver 'dumps' car over two disabled spaces at Starbucks
He has been outed
A driver who parked across two disabled spaces on a Starbucks car park has been slammed.
He was seen parking his SUV-type vehicle across the spots reserved for disabled people at a branch of the coffee shop chain in Huddersfield.
Eyewitness Tom Baxter said he was just leaving the drive-thru at the Leeds Road Retail Park, at around 1:15pm on Monday (April 21) when he made room for the driver to pull in.
He said instead of finding somewhere to park, the driver, who was not displaying a blue badge, rapidly drove into the middle of the two spaces.
Tom said: "I was just leaving the Starbucks drive thru and there was a queue" he told Yorkshire Live.
"I reversed back to let them in and they pull across and just dumped the car there really."
Tom said the driver then got out of the car before looking at the parking. Instead of correcting it, the driver then walked into a Subway restaurant.
He said the car remained on the spot for at least 15 minutes and blocked multiple people from parking there. Tom said: "They were there for at least the 15 minutes that I was queuing out of the car park and hadn't moved as I left."
The driver presented no disabled badge when parking on the spot.
These additional bays on disabled spaces are designed for people with physical disabilities, who may struggle to get in and out of the car in a normal space.
