The owner of a barber shop has spoken of his dismay after burglars threw a brick through the window and made off with coins worth £58 from the till.

The raid happened just after midnight today (Tuesday) at Milano Barbers on Gorton Road in Reddish. Owner Ari Hamakaren found out about the raid when regulars noticed the broken front window and called him.

‌

When he arrived, he discovered the burglars had ransacked the inside of the shop and stole coins worth £58 from the till. Today the shop remained open for business and the broken window has been boarded up.

A police investigation into the attack is 'ongoing'.

Ari told the Manchester Evening News: "They threw a brick through the window. They damaged the cabin around the till and took the money."

‌

"This morning customers called me and told me. We've been here a long time, ten years, my and my partner. We've opened already and I'm in the middle of a haircut," said Ari during a phone call.
