Residents were evacuated as crews worked at the scene
Care home staff have been left 'shocked and distressed' after a fire broke out at the Salford facility.
Residents and staff were forced to evacuate the Bradmere Care Home on Franklin Street, in Eccles, late on Monday night (April 22).
Crews were called out to the scene at around 11pm, with five fire engines sent out to the incident.
Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) says one person was treated by paramedics at the scene.
Meredith Knight, partner at Bradmere and Merrymeet Residential Care Homes, said: "We're shocked and distressed at the fire at Bradmere.
"All our residents and staff were evacuated safely, and their welfare remains our priority, with the support from the authorities."
Firefighters spent more than three hours working at the scene, through to the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Images from the scene showed smoke damage around an upstairs window and on the roof.
A spokesperson for GMFRS said: "Just after 11pm last night (Monday, April 21), five fire engines from across Greater Manchester were called to reports of a building fire involving a care home on Franklin Street, Eccles.
"Crews arrived quickly at the scene. Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used three hose reel jets, a gas detector and thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
"One person was treated at the scene by colleagues from North West Ambulance Service.
"Firefighters were in attendance for around three hours and 20 minutes."
