Coronation Street fans are fearing for Gemma Winter as Mick Michaelis' sinister behaviour stepped up a notch as Chesney Brown returned home.

As fans of the ITV soap know, Mick and his wife Lou befriended Gemma and Chesney following their arrival in Weatherfield in February.

‌

As the newcomers were introduced to viewers, they were described as 'nightmare neighbours' who were willing to make life hell for anyone who dares to cross them.

Corrie fans saw Mick and Lou moving into Mawdsley Street at the back of Chesney and Gemma's house, which is the first time ever Corrie have extended the serial drama across the ginnel in a history-making move for the popular show.

And with their young children going to the same school, Lou quickly made a beeline for Gemma. But unbeknownst to the Rovers Return barmaid and her husband at the time, Mick is the wild van man who had been terrorising Chesney for months.

Chesney has since made the discovery but hasn't made that known to Mick. The kebab shop worker has since been trying to keep it pleasant with Mick, as has Gemma, but while Chesney has been away in London, Mick has been showing threatening behaviour towards Gemma.

‌

He threatened Gemma over his attack on Sean Tully, who got his son Brody into trouble in prison, as he warned her to tell her not to say anything about where he was at the time of the beating.

During Monday night's (April 21) Corrie, Gemma was seen still trying to please Mick and Lou and later, when Sean heard about the their dinner plans, he’s furious with Gemma for 'siding with the enemy'.

‌

Then, in Wednesday's (April 23) episode of the ITV soap, Gemma opened up to Chesney about having messed up "big time" and how Mick terrified her, cornering her at the pub and insisting she'd stick to her story that kept him out of having any involvement in Sean's attack.

Later on, Mick and Lou met with Gemma and Chesney over some cans of beer. Chesney was uncomfortable as Mick gave out his orders in their home to both Gemma and Lou. With the two women out of the room, Mick said Gemma was a "feisty one".

Chesney tried to stick up for his wife, saying she was a fantastic partner and mother, but was clearly intimidated by his neighbour. "She's been getting on the wrong side of me lately, mate," Mick told a stunned Chesney. "You wanna rein her in a bit. For everyone's sake, yeah?" he added.

While @SarahC1305 noted: "What’s Gemma worried for? Isn’t her brother the dodgiest copper in the street?! #CoronationStreet #Corrie."

@LizzyLesbo asked: "@itvcorrie Why don't Gemma and Chesney just lock their back door? #Corrie." @Shannon79053723 commented: "Hopefully one day, Chesney and Gemma will start locking their back door. #Corrie."

@DonnyMacEdin wrote: "#Corrie surely Gemma and Chesney would have learnt to lock their back door." @Clawmaw added: "Gemma and Chesney needs to lock the back door so that those two can't get in. They need to tell Kit about Mick threatening her too. He would sort Mick out. #Corrie #CoronationStreet."
