Coronation Street fans spot 'foreshadowing' for Carla Connor and DS Lisa Swain's major move

Coronation Street fans have wondered if a previous scene between Carla Connor and Lisa Swain has 'foreshadowed' a major move for the couple.

The Underworld factory boss and the detective sergeant have become a fan-favourite couple for fans of the ITV soap as they finally gave into their feelings last year after months of growing closer to one another.

But as viewers of the long-running show know, it wasn't plain sailing and then then the new year got off to a worrying start for Carla as she was rushed to hospital and diagnosed with sepsis.

Doctors later confirmed that the infection had badly damaged her kidney, and was then confirmed she'd need a transplant, seven years after she last faced one. While scared for her future, Carla has made it clear she didn't want her family to be donors, but Bobby Crawford didn't listen.

Carla's nephew then kickstarted a chain of events which brought his dad, Rob Donovan, back into Carala's life as he was eventually decided to be Carla's donor.

But it was all for the convicted murderer's gain as he went on the run after he escaped the hospital having been a kidney donor for his older sibling, only with the thought of using his time in hospital to escape.

He returned to the Street and called on former fiancée Tracy Barlow for help. She reluctantly agreed but soon came to regret the decision as a sick Rob refused any medical help and threatening her with a gun, demanded Tracy get Carla to No.1 Coronation Street where he held them hostage.

Seemingly wanting this to be then end, Rob, still brandishing the gun, revealed to the Underworld factory boss that his plan was to make her watch him die so that the memories would haunt her forever. Soon, Carla's girlfriend came to her rescue as Tracy escaped.

Lisa did what Rob said at first but when he placed the gun down, she took her chances and took the weapon into her own hands. Rob wasn't taking anything lying down and made a play for the gun, resulting in a grapple between him and Lisa when the trigger was pulled and a gun shot rang out.

While Rob was then quickly arrested, Lisa's horror continued as she found daughter Betsy injured in the ginnel having been hit in the upper arm by the rogue bullet and was told later in hospital the injury could be life-changing and she has since been suffering paralysis in one arm.

And the teen isn't coping well in the aftermath and during Friday's (April 25) Corrie, Betsy railed at both Tracy and then Carla for endangering her life. The teen's mum DS Lisa tries to calm her down but Betsy stormed out and was later found by Lauren Bolton destroying the contents of the florist van.

As she tries to stop her, Tracy approached and in a panic, Lauren set off at the wheel with Betsy in the van. And it didn't go very well as in the precinct, Lauren and Betsy were left surveying the smashed up van.

But away from the latest family drama for Carla and Lisa, Corrie fans are hoping wedding bells will be on the cards for Carla and Lisa very soon.
