Coronation Street star Scott Anson has confirmed his 'very last scenes' have aired in the long-running show in which his character dropped a huge bombshell.

It was back in January that the actor first confirmed that he would be making a return to the ITV soap as Lauren Bolton's father Reece. Fans will recall that Lauren followed her dad onto the cobbles alongside the far-right gang led by Griff Reynolds, who groomed Max Turner.

‌

Reece exploited his own daughter Lauren to help the group's cause, introducing her to Max before the pair struck up a relationship. Eventually, Lauren and Max saw sense and eventually Reece was arrested for his horrific crimes alongside Griff.

Reece has previously been seen from behind bars, with Max paying him a visit while Lauren was charged with the murder of her groomer Joel Deering, before later being cleared by a jury.

But it was Lauren who came face-to-face with her dad for the first time in years during Wednesday night's (April 23) episode of Corrie. Lauren was told that her son Frankie's transplant went well and shortly after a nurse arrived with a package addressed to Frankie that left Lauren visibly shaken.

She was next seen arriving at the prison where she came face-to-face with her dad, Reece, who confirmed he'd sent the soft toy for his grandson. "I sent it to the baby bank," Lauren her dad, who was quick to show his nasty side by responding: "Ungrateful cow."

‌

But it wasn't long before the pair clashed over their past, with Lauren making it clear to her dad that she does not want him in her or her son Frankie's life.

In a case of spite, Reece went on to claim that someone else was likely Lauren's father and that her mother had told him the identity of the mystery man. He told Lauren: "You know I'm probably not your dad. We never bothered with a DNA test and that."

Amid the episode, Scott took to X, formerly known as Twitter, and said: "Latest appearance on ITVs @itvcorrie as Reece opposite the very awesome @CaitFitton. Watch now on @ITVX."

Sharing another account's post about his return, which included photos from a scene, Scott wrote in a post on Instagram this week, according to the Mirror: "Catch my very last ep as Reece Bolton."

As the recent scenes went on, Reece didn't get the rise he wanted, with Lauren saying she was happy about his revelation and said that she had no intentions of finding the man Reece claimed to be her biological father.

But after leaving the prison, Lauren was visibly upset by her Reece's cruel taunts as she headed back to the hospital to get an update on Frankie. She told the nurse she had suddenly come down with a cold and didn't want to pass anything onto Frankie so headed back to the street where she visited Roy Cropper.

In the café, the pair had a heart to heart. Roy told Lauren that Reece could have just been playing "cruel mind games" but that she could seek out a DNA test if she wanted to get the truth.

However, Lauren had already made her mind up, as she responded by sweetly telling Roy: "I think I'll just pretend that you're my dad if that's okay with you."
