'Dangerous' sex offender back behind bars over vile messages to boy
'Rudd was fully aware he was breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order...but that didn't stop him'
A registered sex offender branded a 'dangerous individual' by detectives is back behind bars after attempting to groom a young boy online.
Martin Rudd, 45, has been locked up for breaching the terms of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order imposed for previous offences, police said.
They are court orders aimed at protecting the public by restricting a person's behaviour and internet use after conviction.
A court heard Rudd, over a 12-day period between January 10 and January 22, engaged in sexual communication with a boy aged under 16, the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU) said.
A spokesperson said: "During those conversations, Rudd described the sexual acts he was intending to do with the child."
Rudd, from Elizabeth Street, Blackpool, Lancashire, was sentenced by a judge at Preston Crown Court on Thursday.

He pleaded guilty to attempted sexual communication with a child, attempted breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and breach of Sexual Harm Prevention Order and was jailed for 20 months, NWROCU said.
He was arrested at home in March by detectives from the unit after he was found to be in breach of his Sexual Harm Prevention Order.
Detective Constable Aria Mahoney, from the NWROCU, said the order didn't stop him.
The detective said: "Rudd was fully aware he was breaching his Sexual Harm Prevention Order by sexually communicating with a child under the age of 16 but that didn’t stop him.
"The conviction and sentence is testament to our team’s commitment and dedication to ensure that dangerous individuals are identified and brought to justice.
"If you have experienced any form of sexual abuse, or know of a child being abused, please come forward and report this to police."
