Step aside Dubai chocolate as there is a new chocolate bar that everyone is talking about - and it has "hair" inside of it.

Last year, chocolate lovers went wild for a thick milk chocolate filled with pistachio crème, pistachio nut paste and toasted kunafa, a winning combination first concocted in Dubai. The chocolate trend began to sweep social media in 2021 after Fix Dessert Chocolatier founder Sarah Hamouda's fusion of modern sweets with traditional Middle Eastern flavours and regional desserts went viral.

‌

And since then, it seems that filling chocolate with unique fillings has become the popular thing to do. Recently, chocolate lovers have put their Dubai chocolate aside to try a new pink chocolate bar, dubbed 'Angel Hair Chocolate'. It is pink on the outside and filled with a fluffy, candy floss centre.

The chocolate was created in Belgium - a country renowned for its amazing chocolate creations - by Tucho. Now, people are ordering it from all over the world. "This might be the fluffiest chocolate ever," Tucho said. It will set you back 21 euros [£17.96].

Popular online food reviewer Carmie Sellitto, better known as @touchdalight on TikTok, decided to see if the treat is really worth it.

Tucho described the treat and said: "Experience the rich taste of this fluffy in-the-mouth-melting treat, filled with Pişmaniye (Turkish cotton candy), pistachio cream and a subtle hint of vanilla, pomegranate and raspberry. Discover the attention to detail and delightful flavours infused into each handmade masterpiece."

Carmie said the delight "really surprised" him. Tucking into the treat, he said: "Holy, this feels actually quite insane. It looks like a Lego." He also added that it smells "so good".

Pulling apart the chocolate, he said: "There's actual hair in my chocolate. This is definitely the reason it's going so viral." Sharing his verdict on the taste, he added: "I've never ever tried anything like this chocolate before it's incredible."

‌

Carmie added: "The best chocolate I've ever had in my life."

People were divided in the comments - with some keen to try it but others did not seem fond of how it looks. "I have to get some," commented one. Another reviewer said: "If you love pink & chocolate you’ll adore this."

‌

"This looks way better than viral Dubai chocolate," added another. "Candy floss in chocolate basically," commented another. "In Australia we call it fairy floss," said another.

One explained: "The 'angel hair' is a Turkish 'cotton candy' called pişmaniye, which is already delicious tasting by it's own. Also it’s less sweeter than the actual cotton candy."

One joked that it "looks like loft insulation". "I don't like the look of it," said another. "Look like insulation, I couldn't," another said.
