A predator who exploited a young girl throughout her teenage years has been brought to justice.

Cheshire Police says his crimes included sexual assault by touching and penetration.

The 53-year-old was arrested and denied the allegations during interview, but police were able to charge him based on evidence uncovered in a thorough investigation.

Mackintosh, of Moorside Gardens, Halifax, was previously found guilty of six counts of sexual activity with a child, which occurred between 2016 and 2022.

He appeared at Liverpool Crown Court on Wednesday, April 23, where he was sentenced to 11 years with an additional four years on extended licence.

On top of the custodial sentence, he is subject to the sex offenders register for life and an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order was granted.

‌

Detective Constable Cadman, of Cheshire Police, said: "The sentence handed to Mackintosh reflects the severity of his sickening actions.

"He is a sexual predator who exploited an innocent young girl for his own selfish and twisted gratification.
