Inside’s No. 9 stars Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith have announced they will be bringing their acclaimed sold-out West End show on tour - with a Manchester date.

The two TV stars, who are also behind The League of Gentlemen, unveiled their Stage / Fright show in London earlier this year, which has been billed as a stage version of their award-winning Inside No. 9 series.

The show has received rave reviews, being hailed as ‘wildly clever’ and ‘absurdly entertaining, alongside a nomination at the prestigious Olivier Awards for the Best New Entertainment or Comedy Play category.

Blending together a mix of ‘comedic, spooky and dramatic moments’, the show will feature familiar characters alongside new material. Each performance features a celebrity ‘hostage’ joining Steve and Reece on stage, with stars including Stephen Fry, Lenny Henry, and Tamsin Greig amongst those to have appeared during the London run.

Following its West End success, it will now go on a 12-week UK tour. The tour, which will begin in September, will include shows at Manchester’s Opera House from October 14 to 18. Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday (April 2) from 12pm via sites including TIcketmaster.

After kicking things off in Milton Keynes, Steve and Reece will also bring the show to the likes of Sunderland, Birmingham, Hull, Liverpool and Edinburgh, which will end the run from November 25 to 29.

Speaking about the show, the pair said: “We have been bowled over by the success of Inside No. 9 Stage / Fright at the Wyndham’s Theatre. Selling out every performance before the run started and being nominated for an Olivier Award was fantastic enough, but the nightly reaction from fans and newcomers alike has been exhilarating and really quite moving.

“So we are delighted to be able to bring the show to a wider audience around the country. The phrase ‘swan-song’ refers to a final performance, often associated with the ancient belief that swans sing beautifully just before their death. Which is a load of b*******s of course as all swans do is **** and honk.

“So come along to the swan-song tour of Inside No 9 and see for yourselves how we bow out. There won’t be a dry seat in the house.”

Tickets will go on sale on Wednesday (April 2) from 12pm via Ticketmaster and the Inside No 9 website.
