Katie Price issues 'difficult' update on son Harvey after 'life-threatening' health admission
The star struggled to get Harvey back to college after he spent two weeks with her
Katie Price has offered another update on her son Harvey after making a heartbreaking admission about his health concerns over the weekend.
The star has been caring for Harvey while performing in pantomime, but has admitted that taking him back to college has broken her heart after spending the last two weeks together.
The 46-year-old has five children - 22-year-old Harvey, 19-year-old Junior, 17-year-old Princess, 11-year-old Jett and 10-year-old Bunny. She shares Junior and Princess with Peter Andre, and the latter two children with former husband Kieran Hayler.
Taking to her social media over the weekend, Katie updated her followers as she discovered that Harvey currently weighs almost 30 stone.
Harvey, who lives with Prader-Willi syndrome – a genetic disorder that causes chronic hunger – has struggled with weight gain for much of his life.
She said: "I'm so heartbroken and gutted that his weight is just going up. I just googled it in stones, 188kg is just a few kg off being 30 stone.
"It's so life-threatening now, I'm still waiting for the doctors to get back to me starting on the mounjaro and his journey to a healthy life." Mounjaro is a prescription drug primarily used to manage type 2 diabetes, that can also be used for weight loss to suppress appetite.
Katie added: "It's so sad his quality of life at the moment where he's so big, he just can't really do much. It’s just another thing I have to deal with because he's at high risk of having a heart attack, he struggles to put his trainers or struggles to walk anywhere but I love him and I'm going to help him through this."
After the health update, Katie has since shared that Harvey found it difficult returning to college after spending two weeks with her during her time in pantomime.
Speaking on The Katie Price Show podcast, she said: "When I took him back to college, it broke my heart. He just so didn’t want to go and I said, 'We have to go back to get your meds Harv'.
"As we were getting near it he was going, 'Mum, Harvey so sad, I’m so angry.' And I’m like, 'Why Harv?’ Obviously I know why. College, I miss mummy. Mummy is the best'. Then I thought I’d have no car left, he was trying to kick the car door backwards."
She continued: "I’ve had him for two weeks on tour and I need a bit of a break as well. He’s worse than having a newborn, he’s worse than a toddler, it’s full-on.
"So when he moves to the new place, I can’t wait. It’s literally a one-stop train away, he’s a 25-minute drive. I’ll see him all the time, even if he just comes out with me in the car and that, he doesn’t care."
The former glamour model also addressed Harvey's weight as she worried he won't have a "long life", but because of his "complex needs and medications he’s on, things aren’t as easy."
