The Kooks have announced a major UK tour, including their biggest ever headline show at London’s The O2.

The British indie icons will head out on their ‘Never/Know’ tour in October with six dates across the UK. They'll kick off at Manchester's Co-op Live before heading to Cardiff, Brighton, Newcastle, Birmingham, and London for a series of huge arena shows.

Tickets go on sale Friday, 25 April at 10am with a special pre-sale available to a number of fans on 23 April. Tickets can be bought from Gigs and Tours, Ticketmaster and AXS.

Main support for the tour will come from Merseyside four-piece, The K’s. The band were named ‘Breakthrough Act of the Year’ at the Northern Music Awards in 2024, and their second album, ‘Pretty On The Internet’ is out in June 2025.

The Kooks’ seventh studio album, ‘Never/Know’, drops on 9 May, and news of the tour follows the release of their feel-good, springtime anthem, ‘Sunny Baby’.

Speaking about the single, frontman Luke Pritchard said: “We’re told how bad everything is at the moment; everything’s s***; the world’s s***.

"And I was like, I'm just going to refuse to not let these be the best years of life, because I’ve got a young family. It’s about me getting to a balanced life; having a family. It’s a love song about someone making me fall back in love with myself."

The Kooks, whose 2006 debut sold over 2 million copies, have unexpectedly found themselves beloved by a new generation, headlining festivals and selling out shows worldwide.

The quartet formed at Brighton Music College in 2004, taking their name from a Bowie song, a nod towards the band’s deep-rooted affection for classic British pop and rock.

Shortly after their formation, Luke Pritchard (vocals/guitar), Hugh Harris (guitar), Max Rafferty (bass) and Paul Garred (drums) recorded a demo that almost immediately caught the attention of several major labels.

Their debut 'Inside In/Inside Out' came out in 2006, showcasing the band’s sunny guitar-driven pop.

Preceded by the singles 'Eddie’s Gun' and 'Sofa Song', 'Inside In/Inside Out' peaked at number two in the UK album charts and yielded two Top 10 singles in 'She Moves In Her Own Way' and 'Naïve'.

In late May 2021, The Kooks announced a 15th-anniversary tour celebrating 'Inside In/Inside Out' for January and February 2022 – the year they would release their sixth studio album 10 Tracks to Echo in the Dark.

How to get tickets:

Tickets will go on sale on Friday, 25 April at 10am, via websites including Ticketmaster, AXS, and Gigs and Tours. For the Manchester Co-op Live show on 3 October, there is a Co-op members presale taking place at 10am on Wednesday, 23 April, with more information here.
