Manchester City took a significant step towards Champions League football next season with a thrilling late Premier League win against Aston Villa at the Etihad on Tuesday night.

Mathues Nunes struck with almost the last kick to secure a 2-1 victory and lift City into third. Bernardo Silva put the Blues in front early at the Etihad before Marcus Rashford, who had hit the post inside the opening few seconds, levelled from the penalty spot after a foul by Ruben Dias.

City are in FA Cup semi-final action this weekend and have played a game more than rivals Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United and Chelsea but are well placed for a top five finish. Here's how the run-in looks.
