How Manchester Marathon 2025 runners and supporters can celebrate from free pints to fan zones

There will be family athletics, free prosecco, discount pizza and plenty more

The Manchester Marathon returns to the city this weekend with more than 36,000 participants set to take part.

The huge event, which will take place on the same day as the London Marathon, will be held on Sunday (April 27) across Greater Manchester and with a new finish line in the city centre.

Kicking off in Trafford, the huge 26.2-mile course will also take in the sights across Chorlton, Altrincham, Hulme and Sale, with thousands of spectators also set to be lining up the streets to soak up the vibes and cheer on participants.

But there will also be plenty of events taking place across the city centre to coincide with the Manchester Marathon - which will offer ways to not only watch the event but also celebrate those personal bests afterwards.

With protein-packed pasta parties, free steak, discount pizza, and even a cheeky late hotel check-out, there's lots taking place that both medal winners and supporters can take part in. Here's just some of the offers taking place this weekend in Manchester.

Free fan zone and family entertainment

Circle Square, on Oxford Road, will be turning into the ultimate Manchester Marathon Fan Zone on Sunday (April 27) with plenty of festivities and big screen action.

Not only will the race be broadcast live on the giant screen, but there will be pop-up stalls and activities, including an athletic zone for children, yoga sessions, plenty of food and refreshments, and live entertainment.

There will also be a whole host of special offers specifically for medal holders, including post-run pints, burgers, hot drinks and Banh Mis. Offers include a free meal for all medal holders at KOTO North Bar, free coffee for every runner at Half Dozen Other, and a free ice cream or cold beer for marathon finishers from Hello Oriental.

The whole event is free to enjoy and will run from 10am-5pm.

Free prosecco and late check-out at Hyatt

Hyatt Hotels Manchester, which is uniquely placed at the finish line for this year’s route, will be offering free prosecco at the finish line and a late check-out for runners.

Comprising two hotels under one roof - the 212-room Hyatt Regency Manchester and the 116-room aparthotel Hyatt House - Hyatt Hotels Manchester will also be hosting a family-friendly garden party (weather dependent, of course) that will be complete with great food, drinks offers and a relaxed post-race vibe on Sunday.

Not only that, but there will be some other special offers taking place before the big event itself too. Their Laureate restaurant will host a carb loading feast with a pasta party on April 26, featuring protein-packed Bolognese to antioxidant-rich tomato and basil. It costs just £20 per person, with the choice of pasta shape, sauce and protein.

Free steak at Gaucho

From race day until May 1, any Manchester Marathon finisher who presents their medal to their server at Gaucho Manchester will receive an Argentinian steak - free of charge.

Grilled to perfection and dripping in chimichurri sauce, the freebie will be a big motivator for any meat-eaters aiming to accomplish the Marathon this weekend. You can find your nearest participating Gaucho here.

Free bike hire on marathon day

If you’re a supporter and wanting to get around the city to cheer on your family or friends in the Marathon, then you can splash out on some free bike hire.

Brompton, the world’s most recognisable folding bike, is offering complimentary cycle hire to anyone coming to support a loved one on Sunday (April 27).

Free pint at the Grosvenor

The newly-reopened Grosvenor pub, on Grosvenor Street, will also be handing out freebies to medal runners.

Participants in the Manchester Marathon can bag themselves a free pint of Camden Hells from the pub, which is situated just yards away from the finish line.

The venue will also be offering two-for-one pizza offers all day for EVERYONE too - whether you're a runner, supporter or just happen to be in town on one of the busiest days of the year.
