Morrisons has issued an urgent warning to customers to not eat one of their products which may contain small pieces of blue plastic.

The supermarket is now offering a full refund on packets of their 400g ‘The Best 6 Thick Cumberland Sausages’ over concerns that the product may be unsafe to eat.

‌

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has now issued a recall of the product, and customers should return any purchased packets to their nearest store.

All Morrisons’ 440g ‘The Best 6 Thick Cumberland Sausages’ with a use by date of 1 May 2025 are included in the recall.

Shoppers are also advised that they do not require a receipt in order for a full refund on the product.

Morrisons has apologised for “the inconvenience” that the recall may cause and has assured customers of their “continuing commitment to the highest standard of product quality and safety”.

This announcement follows do not eat notices from other leading UK supermarket retailers over the past month regarding the safety of their products.

At the beginning of April, Sainsbury’s issued a warning that one of their Taste the Difference chocolate bars may contain pieces of metal.

‌

Chocolatier, Tony’s Chocolonely, also recalled two of their chocolate bars at the beginning of the month due to concerns over the presence of stones in their products.

A spokesperson for Tony’s Chocolonely said: “We are extremely sorry to have to issue this recall, and for the inconvenience that this will cause people who purchased these products.

“Whilst the probability of a product being affected is low, we always put the safety and satisfaction of our consumers first and that is why we have made the decision to recall these products.”
