Police dismantle 'large operation' after raiding house on leafy Manchester street
Officers were tipped off about suspicious activity
More than 200 cannabis plants were seized after officers descended on a leafy south Manchester street.
Police raided a large property on The Hollies, in West Didsbury, this morning (April 25).
Officers discovered 'around 227' cannabis plants inside the building, Greater Manchester Police says.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of the production of cannabis and abstracting electricity.
He remains in custody for questioning this afternoon.
Officers from West Didsbury police station were supported by GMP's Tactical Aid Unit on the raid, with police conducting a warrant on the address after being tipped off about suspicious activity.
PC Chris Pixton, from GMP's South Manchester neighbourhood team, said: "Following receiving intelligence that enabled us to conduct further enquiries, we have managed to uncover and dismantle a large operation.
"We understand the far-reaching consequences the production and distribution illegal drugs can have and that is why we are constantly pursuing those who are intent on causing misery.
"Hopefully this provides reassurance to our local communities that we do act on information we receive."
Anyone with further information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 379 of April 25, 2025.
Alternatively, details can be passed on anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
