Bargain lovers are championing the Tesco meal deal after realising that a “game changing” £1.99 item is included.

While Tesco shoppers have known that the store’s meal deal - including a main, drink and snack - cuts down the cost of their lunch, many didn’t realise that one luxury treat was part of the lunch deal.

One TikTok user, Ellie Anna, shocked Tesco shoppers when she revealed that the £1.99 Krispy Kreme doughnut is included in the store’s meal deal.

In the viral video she queried: “Why did no one tell me a plain Krispy Kreme was included in Tesco meal deals please?”

With the doughnut costing £1.99 - almost half the price of a meal deal on it's own - shoppers have been shocked by the inclusion of the treat in the lunchtime deal.

Tesco shoppers have since flocked to social media to express their surprise that the Krispy Kreme doughnut is included in the supermarket’s meal deal.

On TikTok one shopper, abby, queried “is it really?”, while another, Millie, wrote “no because I saw this yesterday and I was shook”.

A third shopper, Jamie Dear, called the revelation “game changing”.

With the Tesco meal deal also including Costa express drinks, other shoppers have also expressed their amazement at what is included in the supermarket’s saver deal.

On TikTok, one shopper, Nancy, expressed her astonishment at the deal as she wrote: “so you're telling me I can get a MAIN a Krispy Kreme donut and a Costa for £3.50? let’s not make other people aware of this…”

Another shopper, Rytis, added: “The Costa + main + bakery item was already so good now KRISPY KREME??? That’s insane like thank you Tesco.”

Tesco shoppers can get the Krispy Kreme doughnut as part of the supermarket's meal deal for £4, or £3.60 with a Clubcard.

Shoppers also have the option to upgrade their choices to a premium meal deal for £5.50, or £5 with a Clubcard - in which the Krispy Kreme doughnut is also available.
